01 / 06 · Student Learning Portal

Students see their day, not a schedule.

A clean, personal home that opens to today's classes, what's due, and what to catch up on — built so a Grade 8 student can use it without a tutorial.

  • Today, at a glance. Live class status, next bell, attendance streak, grades trending up or down.
  • Recorded lessons. Re-watch any class, offline-ready, on a feature phone or a school tablet.
  • Progress without surprises. Per-subject trajectory — so no parent learns about trouble at term-end.

Teachers run the classroom — not the paperwork.

One screen for live attendance, the class roster, performance analytics, parent messages, and a one-click way to alert any family.

  • Attendance in 30 seconds. A 48-tile class grid, tap-to-log, auto-pushed to parents.
  • Who needs me today. An at-risk panel surfaces students slipping before exam season does.
  • Reports that write themselves. Term-end reports generated from the data you've already entered.

03 / 06 · Parent Notification System

Every parent. Even on a feature phone.

Real-time alerts on attendance, grades, assignments, and announcements — in the parent app for connected families, and as plain Nepali SMS for everyone else.

  • SMS-first. Same alerts, written in Nepali, delivered by text — no smartphone required.
  • Two-way. Reply to a notification and it routes straight to the originating teacher.
  • Quiet hours & opt-outs. Parents control channel mix and frequency via app or SMS keyword.

05 / 06 · Communication & Collaboration

The conversations that move schools forward.

Secure teacher-to-parent threads, school-wide broadcasts, and inter-school coordination — all in one inbox, with Province-grade encryption.

  • Parent threads. Each conversation carries the student's full context — grade, attendance, risk status.
  • Broadcasts. Principal-to-parents and district-to-schools, with audit trail.
  • Bilingual by default. Type English, parents receive Nepali. And vice versa.

An AI tutor who speaks Nepali — so no student studies alone.

Built into the Student Portal. Tap the microphone, ask in Nepali, and Sajilo listens, understands, and explains — patient, friendly, and never busy.

  • Voice-first, Nepali-first. Same script, same idioms, same warmth — like a kind older sibling.
  • Grounded in the lesson. Answers from Ministry curriculum + your teacher's recorded lessons, not the open internet.
  • Honest about limits. When Sajilo isn't sure, it offers to forward the question to a real teacher.

Governance & data sovereignty

Province ownership, by default.

Bagmati Smart is operated under Province data sovereignty at all times. The government retains all data, infrastructure, and control — with public reporting, independent oversight, and a clean handover into Province operation at the close of the pilot.

Read the governance model

Province data sovereignty

All student and school data is owned and governed by the Province — no third-party sharing without explicit government approval.

Steering committee oversight

Chaired by the Chief Minister's Office, with quarterly reviews and approval of every expansion milestone.

Independent monitoring

A third-party academic or civil society partner conducts bi-annual reviews — and publishes public impact reports.

Built to last beyond the pilot

The platform transitions fully into Province ownership at month 18 — no ongoing vendor dependency.

Roll-out · 18 months · 4 phases

From decision to province-wide impact in 18 months.

A Mathematics teacher · Bhaktapur
I teach 48 students. With this platform I'd save 10 minutes per class on attendance, see which child didn't understand yesterday's lesson before exam results arrive, and reach a parent without hunting for their phone number.

Let us build this together.
